March 24 | DNA Guide

Be Real Together:

Take a few minutes to catch up, tell stories, and laugh together. Trust and friendship take time to build. If you’re launching a new DNA, one person should tell their story — what do we need to know about you? Next week, have another person in your DNA share their story.

Read Together: Luke 19:28-40

In Luke 19 Jesus rides into Jerusalem on a colt his disciples brought him, and large crowd spreads their cloaks on the road before him spreads palm leaves on the road. This event fulfills the prophecy found in Zechariah 9:9, which describes the coming of the Messiah, the King, riding on a colt. The crowd shouts praises, saying, "Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!"
The Pharisees in the crowd express their disapproval, but Jesus responds that even if the people were silent, "the stones would cry out".

The One Question:
Ask this question at your family meal or DNA.

How can we actively recognize and acknowledge Jesus as our Messiah and King in our daily lives?
Use these questions to go deeper with your DNA or for personal study.
1. Why do you think Jesus chose to enter Jerusalem at this particular time, knowing the potential consequences?

2. What do you think the crowd may have been expecting from Jesus as the Messiah?

3. What does it mean for Jesus to come in the name of the Lord?

4. How does Jesus’s choice to ride on a colt reflect humility, despite being recognized as the Messiah and King?

5. What does Jesus's response to the Pharisees' criticism reveal about his understanding of his own identity and mission?

Pray Together:

Take time to pray with and for each other.
